We hold that Christian education is a mandate from God for the family (Matthew 28:18-20). Because of Scripture verses like Proverbs 19:27,22:6, Deuteronomy 6:5-9, and Colossians 2:8, we feel that we must provide an atmosphere more conducive to the precepts of the Bible.
Lighthouse Christian Academy uses a traditional approach to educating students, using the A BEKA curriculum from Pensacola, Florida for all of its classes; PreK-2 through the 7th grade. The A BEKA curriculum is one of the most used curriculums in Christian Schools throughout the world. It is both challenging and practical for students preparing for future educational endeavors. In additon to sound academics, students have daily Bible classes and weekly chapel services. Students in grades K-5 through 7th grade are tested each year with the Iowa Assessment Achievement Test and Cognitive Ability Test. The Iowa Assessment is a nationally recognized standardized test that compares academic achievement of students throughout the United States, private and public. Ninth graders are offered Spanish I and Computer/Keyboarding electives.
LCA operates with a traditional philosophy towards education for children two years old through the 7th grade. By traditional education, we

of order in which the students will learn.
* That homework is assigned regularly and completed on time.
* That our instruction is God-centered, teaching spiritual truths, morality, and
* That reading is taught by phonics.
* That the teacher is professional in manner, but servant-minded.
* That Biblical principles are not obsolete or outdated.
* That God's Word is truth.
